Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Baking is something I have always enjoyed! I think I get the desire from when I was little and would watch my grandma cook in the kitchen. People would alway's gush over how good the food or deserts she would make. I always loved that about her!
It's been a while since I have baked just because and lately i've been craving a classic chocolate chip cookie! Yum!! Perfecting a good cookie really is an art! Unless you have read up on the science of baking, most people don't realize how much goes into a perfectly fluffy chocolate chip cookie! I came across the greatest blog post about how to create the ultimate chocolate chip cookie! I always be sure to follow some of her tips and tricks when I am baking cookies! She calls her post The Ultimate Guide to Chocolate Chip Cookies. I love this blog post because it simply explains why your cookies may have turned out great or may not have turned out so great! Give it a try!

Ingredients:

1 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 1/2 TBSP unsalted butter, room temperature
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup plus 2 TBSP packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 large egg
1 cup chocolate chips

Directions:

(the key is to get your measurements exact and to actually do the directions in order)
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl combine flour, baking soda, and salt
  3. In the bowl of an electric mixer beat the butter till light and fluffy, about 45seconds. add granulated sugar and brown sugar and beat until creamy, about 1 1/2 minutes.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla, beating just till combined.
  5. Gradually beat in the flour mixture. (do not over beat, just until the flour mixture is combined)
  6. stir in the chocolate chips
Refrigerate dough for an hour. (this is crucial) After refrigerating create 1 1/2 tablespoon-sized balls of batter and place on a cool baking sheet. (do not flatten) Bake 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool and enjoy!!!!!!
